It's September. You have a tool, a spreadsheet, a Venmo, and no time. Here's how boards switch to Homeroom without a project: nothing has to move at once. Setup is four short screens. First, your school and what your PTO is called.
2
Then your school year — the dates are guessed for you — and your colors. Paste your current website and it reads the palette and logo off it, or pick a pair. Continue.
3
Last screen: your name and your email. No card, no contract. That is the whole setup, and it took about two minutes.
4
The roster can be a paste from any spreadsheet — choose the file, the columns map themselves, and importing twice never duplicates. Or skip it entirely: the join link lets families add themselves, and the roster builds as they arrive.
5
Day one, use it for one thing: announcements. Write it once, pick who gets it, send. Families open one link with no account and no app. Everything else you use this year keeps working exactly as it did.
6
This is what a family sees from that first email. This week, what needs them, and their own kids' rooms. Nothing to install, nothing to remember.
7
Week two, when the current volunteer sheet runs out, publish the next one here. Same no-login links, with waitlists. The old tool just stops being needed.
8
Money moves whenever you're ready and never before: dues at the next drive, the fun run in the spring. When it does, the books fill themselves in. Until then, this is simply your communication tool — free.

No subscription, no contract, no migration. If it isn't for you, you've lost an afternoon. Start at ptohomeroom.com.
